Dynamix: Ancient Tales of West Wales / Hen Hanesion Gorllewin Cymru

This evening marks a unique occasion for many people, both observing and taking part. It is a rare insight into this country’s rich and varied folklore, passed from generation to generation and related tonight as it may have been done all those years ago through readings and performances of local communities. Dynamix Performing Arts has been delighted to work alongside Brenda from Rhosygilwen and Brian John, who have inspired these tales to create an interactive event for you tonight.Dynamix logo

Students from Dynamix will perform various tales taken from local folklore, many of which have been studied at our weekly classes. The scripts have been written by the students themselves and they have all had an input into the collaborative direction. It has been a rare opportunity to delve into this country's rich heritage  – and explore its folklore through drama and music.

Dynamix was established by Laura Blundall-Gilbert in 2011 in order to create opportunities for local students to perform. Since then the school has become acknowledged as a leading institution offering professional tuition in the style of the West End to young local performers, with engaging and fun classes in Acting, Singing and Dancing.

laura gilbert1A graduate of Trinity College, Carmarthen, Laura Blundall-Gilbert enjoys prominence in Wales as a singer and actor. Her professional experience ranges from dance to opera to musical theatre. She has starred in Opera Teifi productions, with lead roles in ‘Calamity Jane’ and ‘Sally’ in ‘Me and My Girl’. She is a soloist for many local choirs and has performed in Spain and New York. She won ‘The Voice of Musical Theatre’ in Llangollen International Eisteddfod. For ten years Laura has been a passionate and dedicated teacher whose ambition is to nurture the next generation of performers by passing on the skills she has acquired during her career.

Mae ein cynhyrchiad heno yn rhoi cyfle i sawl un gwylio a chyfrannu i achlysur arbennig. Cawn gipolwg ar gyfoeth o straeon traddodiadol ac amrywiol ein gwlad, sydd wedi cael eu hadrodd gan genedlaethau dros y blynyddoedd, drwy berfformiadau a darlleniadau o fewn y wahanol gymunedau. Mae’n bleser i Dynamix Performing Arts weithio gyda Brenda Squires a Brian John, sydd wedi ysbrydoli ein cynhyrchiad rhyngweithiol heno.

Bydd ein myfyrwyr yn Dynamix yn perfformio hanesion yn seiliedig ar straeon lleol, gan ysgrifennu’r sgriptiau a chyd-weithio i gyfrannu at bob agwedd o’r cynhyrchiad. Mae hyn wedi bod yn gyfle arbennig i archwilio traddodiadau cyfoethog y wlad drwy gerdd a drama.

Sefydlwyd Dynamix gan Laura Blundall-Gilbert, ym 2011 er mwyn creu cyfleoedd i ddisgyblion lleol berfformio. Ers hynny mae’r ysgol wedi ennill ei lle fel arweinydd yn y maes, drwy gynnig disgyddiaeth broffesiynol yn null y West End i berfformwyr ifanc lleol, gyda dosbarthiadau hwyliog mewn Actio, Canu a Dawnsio.

Yn raddedig o Goleg y Drindod ,Caerfyrddin, mae Laura Blundall-Gilbert yn amlwg yng Nghymru fel cantores ac actor. Mae ei phrofiad proffesiynol yn amrywio o ddawns i opera a cherddoriaeth theatr. Bu hi’n serenni yng nghynyrchiadau Opera Teifi, fel ‘Calamity Jane’ a ‘Sally’ yn “Me and My Girl”. Mae’n canu yn unigol gyda chorau lleol, ac mae wedi perfformio yn Sbaen ac Efrog Newydd. Fe enillodd gystadleuaeth “ Voice of Musical Theatre’ ( Llais y Sioe Gerdd) yn Eisteddfod Ryngwladol Llangollen. Am dros 10 mlynedd, mae Laura wedi bod yn athrawes ymroddgar ac egnïol a’i bwriad yw meithrin doniau'r genhedlaeth nesaf o berfformwyr drwy gyflwyno iddynt y sgiliau wnaeth hi ddysgu dros y blynyddoedd.
